Your favorite housewife

Early evening all!

I'm trying to get back into the habit of blogging and writing every day! Last week I was speaking on having your house look "staged" on a daily basis. I had a few tips from my great grandmother and she said if you see something pick it and never leave anything out of its place. Well I took that and ran with it,  I've been making sure before I go to bed that my kitchen and living room are completely clean. For example the last couple nights before I go get in the bed I walk around the house making sure there is nothing on the floor. This has been helping me sure my house looks "staged" at all times,  because you never know when company will be coming over.  So until next time take this little tip and put it to use. Makes it easy for when you want to do that spring cleaning,  there will be a lot less to clean😊

I'm just thinking these people have full time jobs because the obviously aren't home at 4:30 pm, so you must be working, and your house is spotless, like its staged wtf!!!! I clean every day and my house still looks a mess. I feel so ashamed...so please share your tips and tricks so I can keep my house "staged" at all times!

Housewives UNITE
Good Evening my housewives and non housewives!

When I started this blog I was unemployed and a full time housewife with nothing to do. Today I have a full time job that I was treating as a part time job because I was so focused on being a "Housewife." I had to realize that I can do both, work a full time job and and take care of my house. Now when I speak of house I do not just mean cleaning and cooking. There is quality time that is need to be spent with my husband. I mean we do not need to spend every waking moment together but it is nice to have dinner talk about the day and watch the Bulls play...Like we are doing now (lol) but this is life. Some people feel like when you get married your life is over and becomes boring, but life is what you make it. Our life is not boring but during the week and when we work weekends this what we do.

Now back to working, it has been challenging because I have not been feeling encouraged or inspired. Yesterday I had a very inspiring conversation with my husband and my therapist. No job is stress free and with every job there is going to be something you don't like about it and make you want to look for a new career. Yes I know, common sense right, I have been told that I am from the "Show Me" state and I must say that my mother was right. I need to experience things for myself in order to understand them. Yes I listen to people when they tell me things but I still just want to see them for myself. I have been trying not to be that way, but hey, I am Courtney Alyse (Billingslea) Wood, the only person I have ever known to be. Hardheaded, stubborn, emotional and did I mention hardheaded. That also goes back to being a wife, I have heard so many things about marriage, some bad some good.

When I got married I thought nothing but positive things, marriage was good, positive, enjoyable, everyday will be happy. Yes you can say I was naive, but who isn't. It was not until I encountered a snake that I started to think negative things about marriage, but that is an entirely different story. Recently I have been trying to get back to that positive aspect of my life, only thing is it is hard once you allow that negativity to invade your space. I have started to laugh more and appreciate what I have and what god has given to me and I know this blog may seem like a bunch of jumbled words just thrown on the screen but they needed to be said and somebody reading needed to hear this. So until next time!

A year and a half later.

Hello my lovely Housewives!

As we know being a house wife can be stressful, exciting, enjoyable and make you want to run for the hills all in the same day. Over this last year and a half I have experienced all of those emotions and some but what I have learned how to do was keep my house clean. Funny right? Yes I know, but this is something that I really had to work on within myself to do this constantly and consistently. It was not easy but I made it happen. As a housewife sometimes we get distracted very easy because we have so many ideas and things that we want to do that we sometimes do not know where to start. For example, when my house is dirty I want to clean everything at the same time. If there is something that goes in kitchen and the kitchen is dirty, I automatically want to start cleaning the kitchen when I know I need to finish the living room. So I came up with a method for my wondering mind. Start in one room and don't leave that room for anything.

How it all began

Good Morning my fellow Housewives!

Today I start a new journey, but before I start let me tell you how it all began. On December 24, 2011 I married the love of my life and I became a wife. I never knew everything a wife was suppose to do. Cook, I like to do that, Clean, never knew how, Support, that's why he married me. I will cook all day if I wanted to but cleaning not so much. it wasn't so much that I did not want to, it was more so that I do not know how. Today I am starting a new journey of becoming a housewife.

I am also changing the eating style in my household and we are no longer eating any fast or fried foods. I am currently interested in trying bruschetta! I saw it on Julie and Julia and it looked so good and I can not wait to make it. I will try to upload pictures of my food and different recipes because I know so many families out there eat the same thing every week. For example, tacos, fried chicken, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, pork chops etc., these are the things I am trying to steer away from. I want to eat healthy and with some of the foods I named I can. I just will not eat them the usual way.

Cleaning is not my strongest place. As my mother would say I "spot clean" I am not sure how that is possible but that is what she says. My main purpose for this blog is to find help with my cleaning. I want to be the best housewife there is. I know to sweep and vacuum but there is so much more that goes into it. I never wiped down walls and so for but I am changing! I am taking a stand and I plan to be on top in  the long run.

I accept all comments, questions and tips. This is a learning process and I plan to make the best of it. With this blog I hope that housewives all over america can read this and grow with me. No one is perfect, and if you think you are you are right because that is your opinion. So ladies if you want to swap recipes be my guest!
